MeVerb is an iPhone app and a Mac plugin made by TrevBeats Multimedia ("we", "us"). This policy explains what MeVerb collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Microphone. During a measurement MeVerb records how your room answers its test sound and your claps. The recording is analyzed on your phone and is never uploaded. What you keep is the finished room: its measured sound, the name you give it, its type (reverb, delay or EQ), its size and its grade. Rooms are saved on your phone.
Camera and flashlight. On iPhones with LiDAR, the camera can measure your room's size. That happens on your phone and no photo or video is kept or sent. The flashlight blinks to cue your claps.
Photos. MeVerb saves a share clip to your photo library only when you ask it to. It can't read your photos.
When you link the MeVerb plugin on your Mac, the app makes a private key and keeps it in your iPhone's Keychain. Rooms you save are uploaded to a private library on our server so your plugin can download them on any network. That library is identified only by a scrambled form of the key. It holds no name, email or Apple ID.
You can use MeVerb without an account. Sharing, liking, following and adding other people's rooms need you to sign in with Apple.
Signing in. MeVerb doesn't ask Apple for your name or email. We receive only the anonymous user ID Apple gives MeVerb for your Apple ID. We store that ID, the @name you pick, the city you type (if any) and the date you joined. Your phone keeps a sign-in session key, and our server keeps only a scrambled form of it.
Rooms you share. Sharing a room uploads the room file, a short preview of drums played through it (under 10 seconds), and its name, type, grade, decay time, city and date. Only rooms measured with the MeVerb app can be shared.
What everyone can see. Rooms you share, your @name, your city and the likes and adds on your rooms are public. They show in the app, in the plugin's community panel, and on a web page for each room that anyone with its link can open.
Your activity. We store the likes, follows and blocks you make, so the app can show them.
Reports. When you report a room, we store the room, your account and the reason. We review reports. A room reported by three people is hidden until we look at it. We may remove rooms and close accounts that break our Terms.
MeVerb PRO is bought through Apple. Apple handles payment, and we never see your card or billing details. The app learns from Apple, on your phone, whether your PRO subscription is active.
If you unlock PRO with a TREVBEATS ALL ACCESS serial, the app sends that serial and a random ID for your phone to the TrevBeats Multimedia license server to check it, and checks again about once a week while you use it.
Linked libraries and community data are stored on servers run by our cloud hosting provider, and travel only over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. The provider may keep basic request logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time to run and protect the service.
MeVerb isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
You can change your @name and city in the app, delete any room you shared, and delete your account. You can also email us to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. We answer within 30 days.
If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new date. Big changes will also be announced in the app.
